Did It Ever Occur To You That It Might Not Work?

Oct 31, 2026

Let me start with a question.

Is there anything in life that’s guaranteed?

No. Not on this earth.

You can do everything right. Go through school, attend the best college, build the right network, make the right connections, and land a job at a Fortune 500 company.

And it still might not work out the way you planned.

You can date someone, have the time of your life, fall in love, have the best relationship with their parents, and marry into a loving family.

And your marriage could still end a year later.

Because nothing is guaranteed.

I say all of that to make this point: JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING ISN’T GUARANTEED DOESN’T MEAN IT’S NOT WORTH PURSUING.

Sometimes, when people think about entrepreneurship, the first thing they say is, “But what if it doesn’t work out?”

And honestly, I think that’s the wrong question.

WHAT IF IT DOES?

Life isn’t linear, and neither is entrepreneurship.

You can’t just say, “If I do this, then this, and then this, I’m going to be successful.”

That’s not how it works.

Entrepreneurship will challenge you. It will stretch you. It will expose parts of you that need to grow and require you to become a different version of yourself, sometimes more than once.

It’s one of those things that takes before it gives.

But if you think about it, so does school. So does marriage. So do many of the things in life that we believe are worth committing to.

The point isn’t that entrepreneurship is guaranteed to work out. It isn’t.

The point is that the possibility of failure shouldn’t automatically disqualify something from being worth pursuing.

You have to be willing to learn, adjust, pivot, and grow along the way.

So yes, it might not work.

But it might also become something you never imagined possible.

The question is, are you willing to pursue it?

And more importantly ..

Are you willing to become a different version of yourself to get there?
