you Gotta Stay In It Long Enough To Make It Past The Learning Curve
I love ambitious entrepreneurs. I am one myself.
I’m also a very optimistic person, and so when I’m talking to clothing brand founders, I try to set expectations.
I don’t set them because I don’t believe in what they’re doing.
I set them because I know there’s a learning curve to everything.
No matter what business you’re trying to build, systems are required. Infrastructure is required. Mindset is required. And selling is required.
Depending on where you are in life and how you’re built, some of these things you might breeze through pretty fast.
But that’s not the case for everybody.
For instance, mindset might take you six months just to get a grip on it and start believing in yourself.
And that doesn’t take away from who you are.
You might be amazing at what you do, but if you don’t believe it, then none of it matters.
Most of the time when we first start a business, we have to load up our skill set so we have different things in our toolset.
We don’t always have the money upfront to hire people to do everything for us.
So we might have to learn enough to get some understanding, get the needle moving, and then eventually bring someone in to do that job and take it off our plate.
All of these things are part of the learning curve.
And depending on the person, that learning curve might take longer for some and shorter for others.
So don’t compare your journey.
Approach entrepreneurship with enthusiasm, optimism, and humility.
Because entrepreneurship takes before it gives.
